Club History

Sunshine Heights Soccer Club was formed in 1955, consisting of two Senior squads. During the 1960’s, the members felt that it was time to introduce juniors. This was one of the best things that Sunshine Heights ever did. The introduction of juniors was the beginning of a new breed of talented soccer players in the Western Suburbs.

Sunshine Heights has truly built a remarkable reputation within the Football Victoria. Renowned for its commitment
to youth development and community engagement, the club has nurtured a deep love for soccer among young players. Through quality coaching, competitive opportunities, and a supportive environment, Sunshine Heights has served as a vital stepping stone for aspiring talents in the region. The club’s history of success in junior competitions reflects its dedication to cultivating the next generation of players.

Our Values

POSITIVITY

Each player plays to the best of their ability. We all belong to a team. We will face challenges at times but must remember to keep a positive attitude towards others and the game. We must remember that it is a game, and we are kids. We just try our hardest and always remember to have fun.

Our attitude is our choice.

RESPECT

No matter the age, gender, ability, ethnicity or any other personal characteristic of a person, no matter the result of a game and no matter a move by our coach or a decision by the referee, we treat everyone in and around the club with respect, including our opponents. We play to the referees’ whistle, and we take pride in the game we played whether we win or lose.

We respect the spirit of the game.

HONESTY

We don’t play for free kicks; we don’t cut corners at training, and we don’t bend or break the rules to win. We play a great game in a great way. We are open to receiving and acting on feedback.

We deliver on our promises.

TEAMWORK

No one is bigger than the team and everyone has a part to play. When the team needs us to pass, we pass and when the team needs us to shoot, we shoot. If a teammate is down, we help get them up. We are a team both on and off the field, supporting, encouraging and cooperating.

We look after one another.
